The Sims 2 The Sims 2: University

Note:
I do not own these images. They are owned by Electronic Arts and Maxis. I just exported them from the game files of my saved game with SimPE. They were located in The Sims 2 game files - Desktop\This PC\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Thumbnails\CAS Thumbnails.package. These images were generated in Create a Sim and Create a Student by holding down Ctrl and right clicking on the thumbnails of each of the templates. The default ones are located in the original Sims 2 game files - C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\UserData\Thumbnails\CAS Thumbnails.package. The default Young Adult ones are located in the original Sims 2: University game files - C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 University\TSData\Res\UserData\Thumbnails\CAS Thumbnails.package.

Notes

  • The 4th Adult Female found in Create a Sim with light skin uses a customised variation of the 2nd of the two broken Maxis face templates in Create a Sim. It is a customised variation of the 25th face template 'Archcsla'. The version that this adult female uses is one of the only known examples of the template that is linked to the 26th Maxis face template 'Archeelf' for other life stages, instead of the 2nd Maxis face template 'Archbase' like the default versions of the 25th face template.
  • The 1st Adult Female found in Create a Sim with tanned skin uses the unused 'Sioux' lipstick which can't be accessed in normal gameplay. If the lipstick is removed, it cannot be recovered. There is a mod that unlocks the lipstick, which can be found here.
  • The 3rd Adult Female found in Create a Sim with tanned skin uses the unused 'braids' hairstyle which can't be accessed in normal gameplay. If the hairstyle is removed, it cannot be recovered. There is a mod that unlocks the hairstyle, which can be found here.
  • The 3rd Adult Male found in Create a Sim with light skin has cheeks that will be plump and a chin that will be shrunken if used on child or toddler Sims. But for adults, the cheeks are not plump, and the chin will be normal sized.
  • The 4th Adult Male found in Create a Sim with light skin uses a customised variation of the 2nd of the two broken Maxis face templates in Create a Sim. It is a customised variation of the 25th face template 'Archcsla'. The version that this adult male uses is one of the only known examples of the template that is linked to the 23rd Maxis face template 'Archcpla' for other life stages, instead of the 2nd Maxis face template 'Archbase' like the default versions of the 25th face template.
  • The 6th Elder Female found in Create a Sim with medium skin uses the unused 'braids' hairstyle which can't be accessed in normal gameplay. If the hairstyle is removed, it cannot be recovered. There is a mod that unlocks the hairstyle, which can be found here.
  • The 5th Elder Male found in Create a Sim with light skin has cheeks that will be plump and a chin that will be shrunken if used on child or toddler Sims. But for elders, the cheeks are not plump, and the chin will be normal sized.
  • The 3rd Teen Female found in Create a Sim with dark skin has ears which use the 2nd face template 'Archbase' in Create a Sim. However these ears will stick out more if the face is used on adult Sims. The reason for this is because the ears are blended with the 25th face template 'Archcsla'.

However it is linked to the correct textures if used on toddlers with red hair. There is a mod that links the black, brown, and blonde hair to the correct textures which can be found here.

  • All the default thumbnails of Young Adult Sims introduced with the University expansion pack are in low quality for the Sim/Object detail, in comparison to the thumbnails introduced in the base game, and other expansion packs. All the thumbnails of Sims, headshots, face templates, and accessories introduced in the base game, and other expansion packs will be overridden with low quality versions of the thumbnails if University is installed. The higher quality thumbnails of Sims, headshots, face templates, and accessories introduced in Bon Voyage, FreeTime, Apartment Life, including thumbnails of unused accessories, custom content, and Sims extracted using SimPE, or created in Body Shop, or downloaded, will also not be affected. If you are a quality freak like me and can't stand the low quality thumbnail settings introduced in University if you can help it, hold down Ctrl and right click on the thumbnail in Create a Sim. It will refresh the thumbnail creating a new one in high Sim/object detail. I got this awesome tip from this page.
